Anybody just hear good ol' Eddie Liddy heave Ben Bernanke under the bus? Holy crap, the Fed knew about the bonuses ahead of time...Hey Ben, hope you have have some time open in your schedule next week, you are about to get dragged in front of Congress again.
That’s what happens when everybody sleeps with everybody else…next thing you know, you wake up with syphilis.
The Fed, Dodd, Obama, and anyone else who cared to ask knew about the bonuses. Dodd wrote language into the stimulus bill that stated that if the fed gave you TARP money you COULDN’T break any contracts with your employees. Now that AIG followed those rules congress is coming back and saying that they SHOULD have broken those contracts. Where does that put AIG? I believe it was a WSJ article that says that Obama, the fed, and Dodd all knew about the AIG bonuses last year sometime.
Know who were the #1 and #2 political contribution recipients of AIG money last year? Dodd and...drumroll, please...Obama. The church lady would say "Hmmm...isn't that convenient." Know who's now going to push for new legislation and regulation on Freddie and Fannie? Barney Frank. Now, how is it that the two people that caused the issues are now trying to make themselves out as the heroes trying fix the issues? Where's my copy of the constitution, my American Revolution hat, and my automatic weapon? They may all come in handy in the very near future if we keep going like this."
