Inner Child is a low producing insurance agent, maybe from Primerica or otherwise.

He had no idea what a syndicate index was, yet "always got a lot" at his "wirehouse" because he was a "high producing rookie."

The only people who feel the need to boast to others about their "success" are those who feel inadequate.

Inner Child is one of them.

Here is how it worked at MS before I left. they have change it a little since then. all ipo's and secondaries counted, preferred's did not. (now they might) I was the cordinator for the office

1. the more syndicate commissions you did , the more you could get.

2. The longer you held the stock the more points you accumulated.

3. There was little stock on the hot deals to go around and everyone wanted them. Very few people worked the secondary offerings, which is where you can get stock. I allocated to the people who did syndicate business unless the manager  overided me, which happened when the biggest broker in the office would complain.

4. now, i think they use assets and production. mike butler might know the new rules.

5. you will make more commissions by doing a lot of secondary offerings.  trade like the hege funds.(see entry 9)

6. avoid the term "franchise deal" on the ipo's. they never worked out. anyone remember  the genuity IPO

7. never trust any buy recommendation on any syndicate deal. I used to sell my ipo shares the day the analyst put the stock on the buy list. The secondary offering you do not have to do this

8. remember that most companies have an IPO lockup's for 6 months. Be careful on the secondaries if they are mostly insiders selling.

9. Hedge funds/IPO/secondary whores make a fortune buying these deals and trading them for about a small pop. Many secondaries are priced below the market and these guys shave off a 1/2 point  to a point on many of these deals. 5000 shares going up 1/2 is better than 100 shares going up 10. They know the brokerage firms support the deals to make them work. When I leave the business, I will do this also.

Pardon the spelling mistakes

You're funny. If you're gonna be jealous of me, please quote my correctly instead of putting down what you think you read? Is this variance between reality and your perception of reality the reason you've been relegated to hounding poor people while they deposit their paychecks on Friday?

You've been active in recent months and you've done it in the past and you don't know how the shares are allocated? You're lying about something.

accusing someone of lying is calling them a liar.  Have you been spoon fed all your life?

I know how MY shares get allocated.  I am wondering how it works in other branches / firms.  The index allegedly has something to do with the allocation but it seems to be far more subjective.  When I see allocations they are not relative to the syndicate index.  I am wondering if there is a more fair way to distribute syndicate that is taking place at other firms.  I can impact the process here and am hoping to hear of a "fair" system elsewhere.

Child: Those who are quick to accuse usually have something to hide.

What is "the index"? Here's what I'm hiding...I think you're almost as big a moron as bankfc.

And then of course, there is the above "pearl of wisdom".  Lay off the sauce and pay attention - you probably had a bright future at some point in your life.  You've been on the board for 5 weeks and posted 110 times  ... 90% of the time during market hours - Wal Mart must be paying  ... never mind , your not worth it.

Not to mention, what does a "BankFC" know about how syndicate is allocated?
