Ok no arguments based on if SS will still be here…

  I have a client who is younger than his wife(my only one).. I am looking into SS options for them.   I am confused about the spousal benefit when the wife(not main wage earner) is eligible before the husband..   Example: Wife at 62: $665/month  Wife at FRA:929 Wife at 70:$1198   Husband  62:$1608  FRA:$2242 70:$2852   So from my understanding the wife can take a spousal benefit of 50% of the husbands FRA.   However I am confused as to when that is possible... Can she take her benefit at age 62 then when he retires get the spousal benefit?
