Can a B/D seriously mandate your attendance to an annual conference AND force you to pay for the trip?

I have a 4 day annual conference coming up at the end of June and the B/D claims it's mandatory and shows us the bill.

This is wrong on so many levels.

Haha this is so funny especially coming from a socialist. Welcome to collectivist welcome to what’s good for the group is good for individual. I thought you liked this type of politics??

P.S. I say bullshit and you should find a new B/D but that’s just me.

N.D, was unsure of what politics you are referring to and whether or not you were calling me a socialist. I have either misunderstood your first paragraph or you have me confused with another user. I have never expressed my political stance on this message board; hell I rarely visit.

Agree with your sentiments on the last line. My mind is deeply boggled by this. I became a broker so no one would have to tell me what to do as long as I made the bucks. You're right about how their pushing their collective agenda over the individual despite the fact that they pushed us to vote their political agenda in the last election (which does favor capitalism and conservative views) and we're in a capitalist industry.

I need an exit strategy.
