You know, if all the regular posters and readers here leave in disgust because of the garbage posted by the numerous alter egos of some sociopath, schizo who isn't even in the business, Registered Rep Magazine will have lost a lot of readers of the rest of the site.

The moderators really should get a handle on this before they lose their readership.  This isn't a chat room, or an internet bulletin board for juvenile spewing.  We are supposed to be able to discuss industry issues with others who are in the industry or who sincerely want to be in the industry instead of retarded trolls who probably still live in their Mommies basement.

RRMag.   Get a grip on this or just shut down the board as it is literally useless in this state.

Absolutely I agree.  It has become worse than a common chat room.  How do we contact the moderator?  At the very least, an “ignore” feature needs to be added so that we can shut out the comments from these juvenile trolls.

I know this is a tough job and you have other duties, but please try to do something about the incessant trolls who mainly consist of one or two people who are ruining this board.

I have been a participant under this name and my previous Babbling Looney for several years now.  This is totally unacceptable for a professional forum to be so polluted.

We have sympathy for the Magazine and for the administrators of this board, but speaking for myself.....my patience is wearing thin.

I used to be able to engage in productive conversation.  No more.

I have a tip for you. Go outside on the street and hire a bum, pay them 9 bucks an hour to watch this site and get you guys Lattes from Starbucks. Even they would be able to discern the trolls from the normal posters after about 2 days…

All I’m suggesting is that maybe some of your behavior has been part of the problem.  Perhaps I didn’t help either.  The guy that you decided to take the potshot at(Jeff) was a long time poster who had added useful perspective and information from time to time.  You were just some new guy calling him a jerk, so I called you out on it.

Look if you want to keep making fun of my post count have a ball.  That number has built up over a period of time through consistent participation and the fact that I’ve not managed to get myself banned or lose my password.  Nothing more nothing less.  Outside of this place I lead a busy life and have a pretty good business too.

I was cut off once because I posted as __God__ on an Abortion Rights board (Apparently someone had just been banned who used the handle _God_ and the crowd thought I was him, the banning had nothing to do with me in particular, I only got one post and it basically said "Hi! I agree with the pro rightsers." And the one here.

Other than that I have been lauded numerous times for my insightful posts. By lauded I mean included in the "highlights reel" that the site admin would put up to attract new posters (back when the whole game was number of "eyeballs" that translated into X times = market valuation) Making it several times to the New York Times Home page in fact (This was when there were literally thousands of active posters on the NYT site and many thousands of posting over three or four dozen active topic threads.)

So I'd say, my bona fides are all in order there, Joedabrkr.

Regardless, the issue is still whether you are a net positive or  a net negative influence on the overall level of discourse on these boards.

Wow, I have hope. I have not been to this forum in probably six months because of how embarrassed I was by the comments made by supposed colleagues of mine in the industry, as well as the the fanatical obsession with trashing Edward Jones. Which led me to believe that these forums were populated by disgruntled ex-Ed Jones reps. From what I've read here Joe, and, given the fact that the day I arrived here (twice no less, late last yoear and back in 2004) I was immediately acused of being some other guy who had just been banned or run off by the Registered Rep possie, I'd have to say that things here were just about the same before and after my appearance.

*  The geeks of the net were too D&D and so they related back to fantasy when they came up with terms like "Troll"  and "Hive" I had no control over it. But let me just say this about "Troll" a troll, mythologically speaking, is a creature that lives under a bridge and menaces all who attempt to pass over it. A troll is satationary and protects "his" area. Trolls on't go from bridge to bridge. By this conceptualization, it's ridiculous to identify Sexetera as a troll but very apropos to identify you as one. Sexetera could/should be classified as a pest, as a Nanna Nanna Foo Foo (in that there really is nothing that you can do to get her to go away other than ignore her) but she's relatively harmless; and don't go on about the newbies, "What about the children!?!?" If the noobs can't tell, it's only a matter of time before they blow up clients anyway, so the faster they fall the better.
