No LP Till 2006

Feb 8, 2005 1:52 am

Sorry clones but I don’t think there is going to be any LP offering until 2006. I could be wrong however I get this from an informed source.

Keep donating that free labor of yours. And cross your fingers that it’ll pay off. Maybe in 06 they will make it up to you.

Feb 11, 2005 2:21 pm

2006 is what we heard from an internal memo also.

Feb 11, 2005 4:37 pm

Blue, Please PM me with the vi number or jonesnet page that said that. Speculation is one thing but you are stating you read it…Funny, I must have missed that…

Feb 11, 2005 7:15 pm

Please correct me if I am wrong but the last LP offering was in 2000 so if the next offering is not until 2006. Six years without a LP offering. Why would anyone stick around.

Feb 12, 2005 12:44 am

Because Jones is the only ethical firm to work for in the industry. Because we are the only ones who tell the truth. Because we know best.

Feb 12, 2005 12:45 am

Jones GP my ass.

Feb 12, 2005 4:44 am

Hey Guest- Type in VI,ImAnIdiot

Or you could just find a GP who likes to gab. Funny when people outside of the firm know more about what’s happening than you do isn’t it?

Feb 12, 2005 5:25 pm

Silverton, No, just trying to see the truth via the bs that so-caled “insiders” post. Blue never did answer my PM, there is a surprise. Maybe as Zacko says, he is busy getting coffee for his GP

Feb 12, 2005 7:50 pm

The Truth is all of the current employees know they pulled the last LP offer off of the table in fear of the legal issues.  What reason do you possibly believe they will extend an offer now when the legal troubles are worse than they thought?  Take the blinders off will ya?

Feb 14, 2005 2:57 pm

Still waiting.....but now I think I would turn it down if offered. The latest slap in the face is the regulators (and Jones) are requiring we understand how revenue sharing works. And if we don't finish this special training  by mid-March,we lose the ability to earn a living.

I wonder if the GP's are required to take the annual ethics course? Like I have said before...many more shoes to drop. And Lockyer hasn't begun yet...

Raymond James 2004:

Number of reps at year end = 3740

Number of reps producing greater than 100k = 1760

Percent of reps producing less than 100k = 53%

Zacko's defense of RJ = priceless

Feb 15, 2005 2:27 pm

Rank,

I honestly could care less about Raymond James hiring.  Being a Jones broker--I can certainly understand that you are so brainwashed that you think the motto "Here We Grow Again" is a universal desire of all reps at all firms.  News Flash---we don't give a rats a ss.  I know my free stock options are already up 50% since Setember though.

BTW, many of the low producing reps are new reps in an OSJ branch.  I am an OSJ branch and can hire reps if I so choose.  RJFS has about 2000 offices I believe...but you seem to know better than I since I don't follow at all.  And, NO you cannot work from your home.  Minimum production is 175k to have your own branch in 2005.

You keep your focus on how many reps Jones keeps adding and losing---I'll focus on running a successful business that I now own.  Somewhere down the line you will realize how much of an idiot you sound like.

Now I am hearing that 2006 isnt even a sure thing.

Do I hear 2007 folks!

Keep your fingers crossed clones! Lets see: your evenings spent putting on call sessions for newbies,

playing holiday party planner, helping new IRs in St Louis, traveling to new IRs offices to make sure they are making their “SALES” calls, running errands for you regional leader, going out door knocking with new IRs,

manning boths at jobs fairs, etc etc …let me count all the ways you can WORK FOR FREE.

I am forgetting all the other ways you get to work for free when you are an EDJ SALESDOG. Don’t worry. One day it’ll pay off and you to will have an opportunity to buy into a great deal. OHHHHH LP!!! Impressive!

Feb 18, 2005 7:05 am

Silly Silver,

Did you also hear that Jones is paying interest / earnings on the LP that they havn’t even come out with yet. Explain this one.

Do I hear 20% return? Not for you however, Silly Silverton.

Your comments Silver?

Feb 18, 2005 5:50 pm

Sorry, new to the industry, but what is LP?

Feb 18, 2005 5:53 pm

LP is a bond in DRAG!  Sorry, that was for Sabi Sabi… Where is that guy? He was fun to spar with…

Feb 18, 2005 8:01 pm

Bond in drag! Never heard that one, maybe I don’t want it afterall IF it is ever offered

Feb 21, 2005 3:25 am

First, who do you work for and what does your CEO make?

Second, how many mutual fund firms does your company have revenue sharing agreements?  (smitb barney and morgan stanly are over 20).  Am. Funds says they have agreement with the top 75 brokerage firm, so i assume your firm has at least 1.

Third, what funds do you sell?

Fourth, do you offer RAP accounts and if so do you explain to your client that you are doing that to smooth your monthly income out.

Final thought - their is too much complaining about the GP's at Jones.  I am sure some are money hungry pigs, but so are most on this board b/c all you talk about is INDY and making more money.  Indy has its pros and cons just like everything else.

Dec 29, 2005 3:33 am

Thought this thread could use a revisit.  Jones has 3 days to make a liar out of 'ol Silverton.  If I were you clones I would start questioning that "accruing interest" they are promising.

This is too fun

rankcr*p: That was Raymond James FINANCIAL. (Independent channel) lots of independents are running as a sideline to insurance/etc. Check out the other independents. LOTS of <100k producers. (Except for Wachovia Finet. They won’t take anyone <250k.)

Dec 29, 2005 5:05 pm

success - it's called a WRAP, not a RAP, unless that's something I'm unfamiliar with (sounds like you may be, too).

You will also hear the indy reps stating how nice it is to own their book and business.
