For Jeff---Southwest Securities

The recruiter in Houston is Rick Peterson (he runs his own shop).

Per a BM friend of mine with SWS, Rick placed 2 MS guys and 1 MER guy with SWS last month in their new office in Plano, TX. Have no idea what their production was.

Thanks.

Most people don't know that SWS is the 5th largest clearing firm in the industry.  Good story, very strong leadership.

Pretty decent firm, I think. Haven't heard many SWS brokers bitching about the firm (not like Ed Jones)!

Good luck, am sure you can probably do some good business with them, Jeff and BrokerRecruit.

I do too, and I think the odds are pretty good.  The Bucholtz
family still has a huge position and Don is not getting any younger.

The firm is not positioned to compete long term.  They are
essentially a clearing firm for small players who happen to also have
their own small network of branches and a modest IB effort.

That’s right, because only huge wirehouses with embedded investment banks and armies of highly (over)paid middle managers have what it takes to compete in the long term…

I can’t discuss that on a public message board but M&A fever seems to be high in this sector
