Barack is going to destroy what built this country! Yes some things need repaired, but if you believe in this guy now…You won’t soon enough. I beleive hard work should be rewarded. He beleives hard work should benefit those that don’t even participate. He is a recipe for DISASTER!

Make it 39 lenders now down the tube. 3/4 of my pipeline is subprime, geez. This keeps going like this, my lender list is going to be non-existent and I’ll definitely be struggling. I wonder if the Fire Department is hiring?

But I am appalled at the direction of the country. Obama is likely a good man, who can’t handle the job he applied for.

He may have a good heart, but I doubt seriously that his heart is in the right place.
He believes in collectivism, rather than individual responsibility & liberty, in regards to national issues and international political issues (individual people at the national level, or individual nation-states at the international level).
His heart is set upon, as you alluded to in your post, re-distributing wealth and pandering to socialist/marxist/communist world politicians. If you review his life all the way back to his childhood, he's surrounded himself with people who hold contempt for basic American values and ideals or, simply America itself (Acorn, Ayers, Rev. Wright, etc).
I don't view anyone who has contempt for the ideals of our Founding Fathers as having their heart in the right place.
I do think he's a good person...ie, morals/ethics, but his economic & political views are to the very, very far left of what this country has typically embraced.
The bloom is off the rose now too, as you can see from the results of yesterday's elections.
The Independent/Moderate middle is who got him elected (well intentioned people, who wanted a change, like yourself) are now seeing that his historically ultra-liberal voting record in IL and the US Senate, was NOT an aberration and they were conned.
Now we just have to wait and see how much of our country he can destroy in 3 more years.

I can’t stand the Rev Wright and Ayers crowd as well but where’s the
outcry when Palin’s husband was part of a group that called for Alaska
seceding? Or the Texas Governor who is running on the secession
platform as we speak. Is that American? Or the guys who swear by the
Confederate Flag and that it’s a part of our history. Yes, it is a
part of our history just like slavery.
You are right on the economic policies. I don’t like this tax hike
idea or taxing of health insurance plans as well. More taxes means
more money Congress gets to waste.

Define poor. People in this country are considered poor when they own a vehicle, have cable television (with a nice TV), and can put rims on their cars.
I like how there are “two Americas” as John Edwards tries to portray. Those people are poor because for the most part they choose to be poor. Or have never learned the benefits of hard work.
I grew with my father the sole provider on a $400 a month salary as an E-4 (I’m not even kidding). We ate beans and rice four days a week, and “special” days were when we got a little chicken. He worked his way up through the ranks through hard work and willpower. He was able to put clothes on my brother’s back, which were then handed down to be put on my back. Everyday my brother and I cleaned the house. I worked 50-60 hours a week while going full time for both my undergraduate years and graduate years.
Don’t tell me people can’t make something of themselves.
Poor is living in a hut with a dirt floor. You can afford cleaning supplies once every quarter. You walk everywhere you go.

Ok. Another story.
I was in New Orleans shortly after Katrina. Our job was to prevent looting.
There were contractors from Florida with nothing to do. Why? Because the government was requiring these contractors to hire locals. Guess what? The locals didn’t want to work. These contractors were paying $30-$40 per hour for LABORERS.
The red cross was giving out cleaning supplies and food to those who lost their homes. People in brand new Jaguars were pulling in. People who could not afford them.
When we patrolled the neighborhoods (the poorest ones) there was a big screen TV in EVERY house. One particular house, that was 640 square feet had THREE LARGE SCREEN TVS.
Here’s the best one. After pulling a twenty hour shift and nearly getting killed by looters in a sports store, we finally got back to the convention center (where our amenities were worse than those at the SuperDome) and a lady in a nice Navigator pulls up, with some rims on it. And they was spinnin’!
She says, “Hey you. Where’s Oprah at?” Me, “Chicago, I believe”. Her, “Naw, she 'sposed to be given out $2000 to the first 100 people who show up this morning”.
Handouts. That’s what these people want. It is laziness that separates the rich from the poor. Rich people work hard, poor people don’t.

I read your post. Everybody knows the baby boomers are weak. Generation X has stepped up and will help repair the damage of the fogies.
I’m telling you what my experience has been. People are lazy, that is why there is a gap in wealth. Rich people are rich because they work.
This type of society is sustainable as long as we limit our social programs (which we are not doing - we’re expanding them).
Let the gap widen and widen further. People pull themselves out of poverty when given the right incentives.

I agree Moraen.I had to kill myself to get where I'm at, much like yourself. However, there is a problem when 13 presidents all come from the same exclusive club. Also, I will tell a personal story.....My wife has asthma and allergies, and when I was going through college we had no med coverage because we didn't " qualify" for help. That meant about a dozen emergency room trips per winter for pnemonia and breathing treatments. I start a company in college and now have the money to get her covered. Guess what.......no one will cover her because of her pre-existing condition. NO ONE. this is why I voted for Barack. I thought he may even the playing field.
