Stock Analysis, Financial Planning and Reporting
I need three pieces of software and I am very cost conscious. I need good stock analysis software, financial planning software and reporting or something to aggregate holding of individual stocks & bonds along with MFs held at the fund family.
Please help.I’ve heard google is a good place to search for stuff.

Please only non dorks answerMorningstar has some good software that can allow you to do stock/portfolio analysis, and it’s not too expensive. About $15/month. I’m not sure if it will do what you want it to do, but it’s a start.
What specifically are you looking for in software that will do "financial planning"? Deekay, I didn’t realize Morningstar was that cheap. I’ve read where it’s 150-300 per month. I really like Morningstar. I’ll stick with that if I can get it for 15. As far as financial planning. I want a package that offers retirment planning, asset allocation, monte carlo, estate planning, cash flow and tax planning.

Morningstar Advisor Workstation will do almost all of the things you’re looking for. Should be $200/mo or less; depending on if you get an affinity discount from a b/d or similar. That should not be a hurdle to use it unless you’re broke.
I’VE BEEN USING MORNINGSTAR FOR 10 YEARS AND REALLY LIKE IT EXCEPT IT’S A LITTLE SLOW. I WOULD MIND HAVING A PARAMETER TO SEE PERCENT BELOW THE HIGH OR ABOVE THE LOW.

Morphius thinks it's better to do research on google then ask brokers who have first hand knowledge. Please if you don't know of any good research tools than keep your pie hole shut or in the case of Morphius it's something else.

I use just Morningstar Advisor Workstation to close a $800,000.00 account. Your clients might not care but mine do. I know that most people buy on emotions, not logic or facts, but does that mean that we should not provide the information that they need to make good decisions?JackBlack you give me hope. You certainly NEED a financial advisor, since you are so clueless yourself. So clueless that your idea of a good advisor is simply someone who can input data into Morningstar software and print out the pretty charts that it generates. But even that would be an improvement over what you must provide your poor clients - rank, unadulturated ignorance.
And speaking of clients, you would never make the cut to become one of my clients, so you can only continue to fantasize about what it might be like to sit down with an experienced advisor like me in a client meeting. Although I don’t doubt that based on your pathetic experience and knowledge it probably WOULD make you feel like you had entered an entirely different dimension.
