UBS vs Merrill

It looks like UBS wants to be Merrill. Merrill buys advest and UBS buys Piper Jaffray. And as the recent news states UBS is hungry for more. Is there anyone on this board that has some experience with both firms and can give a comparison between the two? A comparison on what it would be like for a rookie at both firms, and maybe some info on which frim would be best for a rookie?

Having seen a little of Merrill from the inside and a lot of UBS, I highly recommend Merrill.
