Transitioning from a large company to independent - Can you help me?

I am leaving a large firm to go independent. I want to retain as many client’s as possible, so how do I explain this to my clients? How can I explain the benefits and reasons in an effective manner? I am not asking for a complete call script or anything, but if you can offer advice on how to call/email/write/contact clients during this transition I would greatly appreciate it.
