When people say that they’ve taken the exam, they mean that they answered the questions and got a grade. Not that they brought it home with them.

No reason to be an ass. I know for a fact you can get old exams from Kaplan and other test prep places for study purposes. I was just curious where else you can get them. But if trying to be-little other people makes you feel better about yourself, then hell go for it! Doesn’t make you any smarter though.

Anyone have an idea where you can get old exams for study purposes?

THen why don’t you get some from Kaplan? Why do you have to waste out time with this crap?

If you think this is a ploy to cheat, then you are an idiot. You must know nothing about test taking procedures. Do you think they give everyone the same test every year? No…After the year is over, they file the tests for students to take practice tests. I am simply asking if anyone knows where to get old (07,06 ) exams, so i can take practice tests. You didn’t just magically pass the S7. You took practice tests whether you bought them in a book, used S7 for dummies, or got materials from your firm and guess where they got that material from, OH MY…OLD TESTS. But since you used material based off of old tests, i guess that makes your S7 grade mean nothing right?.. By the way, Im a man, not a sweetheart. Oh, and it says something that i haven’t see you on any well respected posts here, so i’ll just ignore both of you.

I appreciate it ice. I have obviously the study materials from Jones, but i also purchased Series 7 for Dummies (It’s actually wonderful at explaining the basics) and it comes with a practice exam, but i was wondering if there were any besides Kaplan. The study materials i have don’t come with many practice questions. They feel a bit dumbed down, compared to others i have seen online and such. Thank you for taking my post seriously Ice…

STOP WORRYING seriously if you cant simply study the Jones material for the time alotted and pass easily you probably will have some serious issues answering intelligible questions from prospects regarding their retirement preparation and life savings, not trying to be a jerk, but trust me if you do the work and spend the time reccomended you will be fine. Two months from now you will be worrying more about your REAL challenge in this biz, making quality contacts, and qualifying prospects. Good luck, study hard every day, pay close attention to options and bonds, particularly muni's and you'll be just fine. Relax, focus, and you'll pass with flying colors.

What system does Jones use?  My company uses Firesolutions and I know you can order extra practice tests.  I have no idea where you get old tests.  I also used STC and Dearborn practice tests.  I’d see if anyone else in your region has access to those discs.

I am not worrying…DC…I am just looking for some more tests…for extra practice…

I’m new to this myself, 3574, but if you can’t learn to work with a little more grace your going to be Gone With the Wind.

I agree WAAAAAAAAAAAY to much into this…I simply asked for where to get a few extra practice tests…People like to start drama…

as I understand it FINRA has some thousands of test questions and each test they give piucks a random NNN questions from this bank – so the questions you are given will not necessarily be the exact same ones your buddy gets.

Wind,  just stick to the EDJ tests and you will be more than prepared.  Trust me.  No need to waste any money on extra questions.

So just study the Jones material hardcore?  I was contemplating getting the Kaplan cd but have been putting it off due to the cost of it.

Don’t buy anything.  The Jones material will more than prepare you for the 7.  If you can’t pass it with the Jones study process, you ain’t ever gonna pass it. 

Well guys. I’d have to disagree with you. I purchased a supplemental book that explains the information a lot better than the Jones material. I was able to understand the Jones material quicker by reading this book first. Saying that because i do not ONLY USE JONES MATERIAL i will never pass is a little un true. It’s good stuff, but it doesn’t always explain it in the best way… I don’t feel like anything is a waste of money, that helps me understand the material especially when i mention the book to my trainer and after se purchased it, she recommends it to my current classmates…as well as changes how she teaches…based off a few concepts in the book…There are better materials…I am just looking for some good supplementals.

Wind, supplemental study material is good.  I was referring to paying for extra questions.  I still think EDJ gives you more than enough questions.  I myself purchased a financial dictionary which I found very useful during the study process.  Good luck.

Well…I feel like i could benefit from more questions. After all, i do have a good 3 week period after reading all the jones material, before i take the exams. It would be very beneficial to have extra tests to practice on.

Who says i have 2500 questions? lol…The Jones material has nowhere near that…Just the exams you take after the chapters…but then you have nothing to practice on…because you have already taken them…

I have always heard that mixing curriculum can actually be detrimental.

I was fine with STC. I kid you not, the 7 felt like “test 14”

If you don’t want to spend a lot of money, you can get test questions on options and bonds from Johnson Lipman for $20.

And use investopedia to clarify topics you’re unsure about.

I seriously appreciate everyones suggestions finally. I was thinking about the Kaplan CD.
