Series 6 - question on Qualifications

Apr 6, 2006 6:21 pm

Hi all - thanks for taking time to read my post. I have a question regarding Series 6 qualifications. Does a past personal discharged bankruptcy disqualify you from obtaining a Series 6 License?

I tried to find through other resources, but can't locate reasons for Disqualification.

Appreciate any feedback.

i don't believe so, but it could cause an employer to think twice about sponsoring you for the 6.  It goes back to the age-old debate about whether or not former BR's should be managing other people's money.  All I can say is, I hope it's in the distant past and/or you have a damn good excuse for doing it.

Sorry couldn't resist.

In all seriousness, I've been around this business a while and seen a lot of cr*p come and go.  You should seriously take a look at some of the info out there on WFG and also take a look at their promotional spiel with fresh eyes, and think about whether or not you want to put your reputation and your friends and family at risk with an organization such as them.

Not trying to 'slam' or antagonize.  Just trying to be helpful.  Give it some thought before you go any further.
