Background Check
Bull - a simple answer and you have indicated you have not gone to that country since Your Failure To Appear in court. If you do arrive in the country and are stopped for ie. traffic violation. Be prepared for a possible delay in your travel plans. You were in most probability Found Guilty In Absentia.
To be safe , make a call to your solicitor , the few dollars invested may be well spent.BTW Bull - hope it was not France? If so - you are presumed guilty until proven innocent. Not even close to British Criminal or Civil Law.
I should’ve been more specific:
I'm getting a back ground check for a job i just accepted selling securities. Will the wirehouse see it?See my post REF. spend a few dollars and check with your solicitor ( lawyer ) for a Legal Opinion. Not your opinion , my opinion just to establish what may or may not be a problem now or in the future.
My point Ice … Spend a few bucks get a Legal Opinion not only for this situation but for future situations. Bull don’t accept legal advice on the cheap or what you think you know.
It was pre EU, but i have been back to other countries since EU with no problems.
I could care less about possible vacations at this point. I just don't want to lose the job before my first day! I'm calling an attorney now.Best response to the matter. More than just an application to a job may be at stake.
You didn’t have sex with a minor, did you?
Bullshitinachinashop might be the founder of NAMBLA. Not only is he the founder, he's a member! You didn’t have sex with a minor, did you?
Bull,
In all seriousness, I've known a few branch managers to take a guy out and beat him, possibly kill him, for less. I'd highly recommend wearing a bulletproof vest your first week or two in the office. Wear it under your suit as to not tip the manager off.I’d still like to hear what you did…
See Bull simple make the call
Bull - here is a No Charge observation from RRDLAWYER. Just be sure of the facts in your specific case.
Does anyone know where to get a background check for Amsterdam, Netherlands?
I found one site, but they charge $190?!
Does anyone know where to get a background check for Amsterdam, Netherlands?
I found one site, but they charge $190?!
Why do I get the feeling that you're trying to find out if you can lie on your U-4 and get away with it?
I’m trying to find out if i’ve ever been charged.
Bull - Let’s be specific:
1) Were you Arrested and Charged by the Police? 2) Were you taken before a Court Official - ie. Judge , Magistrate or Justice Of the Peace? 3) Were you issued a Document ie. Promise To Appear? 4) Were you given a date to appear befor the Courts? 5) Was this a Criminal Charge versus a Municpal By-Law ie. Litttering? If you have answered yes to the above , you do have some Criminal issues that have not been resolved. If a By-Law ie. littering usually enforced only within the municipal juristication. Hope this simplifies?I was arrested and stayed overnight. The next morning i signed some documents and they let me out without having to pay bail. It was criminal and they set a court date for 3 months in the future. I was never taken in front of a court or judge.
For what? What was?I was arrested and stayed overnight. The next morning i signed some documents and they let me out without having to pay bail. It was criminal and they set a court date for 3 months in the future. I was never taken in front of a court or judge.
Bull - You have my PM. You signed SOME DOCUMENTS??? You were arrested and spent the night in jail. " I was never taken in front of a court or judge " , of course not you Failed To Appear. The documents you signed were presented to you by a Senior Police Officer ie. Inspector or Staff Sgt. or the arresting officers? The documents you signed were - THE PROMISE TO APPEAR. So to date you have : 1) Been Charged With A Criminal Offense and 2) Failed To Appear which then means you have been convicted and have a warrant for both the conviction and failure to appear.
If you legal advisor says " not to worry " , may I respectfully suggest you seek a second opinion.Bull - If you have issues with the Dutch Authorities and do have plans to travel may I suggest that you not fly on KLM flights that connect through Dutch Territory ie. Amsterdam to another final destination. If you are thinking about a Caribbean vacation to St. Martin/St Maartan you may be in for a surprise. When you present your Passport to the Customs and Immigrations officials they will scan the Passport and guess what will appear…the little matter in your past.
If you are thinking about " missing " a slight detail on your employment application you are in fact making a false application. I suspect there is clause in your application that STATES something to the effect that FALSE OR MISLEADING information may result in either denial of your application or dismissal.Thank you for your input.
I've come to the conclusion that i will just have to get a criminal background check from that country and see for sure what my status is. Until then, thinking about it is just wasting my time.bullinachinashop
it’s for sure, you’ll better do a criminal background check,
I am not sure if there will be or won’t be anything to play a great role on your reputation, but at least first of all you’ll know what’s gonna happen to you,and the second- you’ll not be so anxious any more.
And…by the way friend-try never to waste your time!! It’s so precious!!
