Annuity Chargeback Challenge

Has anyone had any success challenging an annuity chargeback? I just go hit with one and there were a number of extenuating circumstances, which I have reviewed with the carrier to no avail. I am also trying to work with them for just a compromise of the chargeback amount and not trying to avoid it completely. My client passed away unexpectedly 3 weeks from clearing the chargeback period, but I am getting hit with the entire chargeback. I was just curious if anyone had any success in challenging and/or negotiating these. If so, were there certain hot buttons you had to press? Certain people to speak with? Thanks.
