Disgruntled PE Teacher, looking at CFP

I'm seriously considering getting my CFP. Does my bachelors need to be in the realm of finance to land a decent job as a financial advisor? My bachelors is in Education, and I'm looking at Boston University online for my CFP education.
What are the logical steps to success for someone like me looking to enter into the field of financial management?
