Advisors on the Move: Wirehouses Bolster the Ranks

  • Wells Fargo recently snagged a 12-year UBS adviser J.D. Joyce to join the firm’s Financial Network (FiNEt) in Texas on Thursday. Joyce will operate under the firm name J.D. Joyce Investment Management Group.
  • Raymond James Financial Services picked up a new advisor James “Doug” Hall to join their Green Financial Group in Houston on Thursday. Hall comes from USCA Securities and prior to that he worked at UBS, Morgan Stanley, Paine Webber and Shearson Lehman Brothers.
  • UBS AG Wealth Management welcomed industry veteran Stephen Fish to their Ohio firm this week. Fish joins UBS from Hillard Lyons and has been in the business for over 25 years.
  • Morgan Stanley’s Wealth Management recently expanded their group with the additions of Ricardo Kent from Wells Fargo and Arturo Castelo Lopez, Jennifer Sierra and Marion Tettke from UBS, the wirehouse firm said Tuesday. Kent will be reporting to Branch Manager, Giovanni Renteria and Complex Manager, Billy Van Scoyoc at the Plantation, FL office. The other three advisors will all be working at Morgan Stanley’s Wealth Management office in Miami, Fl.
  •  Connecticut Wealth Management recently acquired three new financial advisors Kathleen Christensen, Elizabeth DeBassio, Michael Tedone, and  one administrator Kimberly Lockwood  from Filomeno Wealth Management at the beginning of the week.
  • Janney lured away Morgan Stanley duo Robert Benson and Michael Slaymaker earlier this week so that they can help grow Janney’s presence in their Washington, D.C. location. Both boys began their careers at Legg Mason and then went to Citigroup prior to their time at Morgan Stanley. Benson and Slaymaker will work alongside Elizabeth Miller to form the Old Dominion Group and their titles will both be Vice President/Wealth Management.
  • HighTower Network grabbed their first ever advisor team—Atlanta, Ga.-based Shaffer Wealth Management—to join their firm on Monday. The team consists of Managing Director Roger Shaffer, Executive Director  Rhonda Lamb and Senior Director Perry Neuman. Shaffer Wealth Management manages $300 million in assets and the team has over 50 years of combined experience in the financial services industry. Before to aligning with HighTower, the team previously worked for Sun Trust Investment Services, Inc., in the Alexander Key Division.
  • J.P. Morgan’s Private Bank branch in the U.K. tapped industry professional from RBC Wealth Management, Tracy Maeter to be the new head of investments for private clients.
  • Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management expanded its reach by adding industry veteran Vinit Sahni to their team. Previously Sahni worked at Bank of America and prior to that, at Goldman Sachs.
  • Ashcourt Rowan captured Rathbone’s Kevin Norman for their London office late last week. Norman will be the new head of middle office, the same position he held at Rathbones. Prior to Rathbones Norman worked at JP Morgan Cazenove for 17 years.
