Susan Hartley Moss

Susan Hartley Moss, C.T.F.A., is the Managing Director of trust and fiduciary services for Wealthaven, LLC. In this role, she brings highly specialized fiduciary experience to Wealthaven clients where she can give clients objective and unbiased advice and offer her expertise to help clients grow and preserve their legacies from one generation to the next.
Prior to joining Wealthaven, Susan’s most recent position was director of fiduciary for BNY Mellon Wealth Management where she managed the trust advisory teams nationally for a multibillion dollar department within the firm’s Family Office group. Over her eight years with BNY Mellon, she provided fiduciary and strategic leadership with a focus on legal, compliance, risk and fiduciary administration of complex trust structures and design for ultra-high net worth families globally.
Previously she created Private Trust Companies for large global families and family offices specializing in the creation of their family office governance structure, operations and fiduciary policies and procedures. Susan also worked with Deutsche Bank as managing director and head of ultra-high net worth trust and estate services. Additionally, she previously held key fiduciary roles at U.S. Trust and SunTrust Bank. Susan earned her bachelor’s degree in marketing and finance from Barry University in Miami and completed a three-year program at the prestigious National Graduate Trust School at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill. She also holds the C.T.F.A. designation from the American Bankers Association. She attended Nova University Law School.
Susan is President of the Board of the Trust School for the New York Bankers Association, and sits on the board of the National Trust School and National Graduate Trust School at Emory University, where she is a member of the teaching faculty. Susan is a frequent author and lecturer on complex fiduciary matters and has been published in publications including Trust & Estates magazine.
Susan lives in New York where she actively volunteers with New York Cares and previously served on the board of trustees of the May Mitchell Royal Foundation.
