Imagine spending $9,000 for a series of seminars and getting a return of $20 million in assets. That's exactly what happened to a South Carolina-based Merrill Lynch broker. He used Seminar Success, a marketing package designed for brokers by Response Mail Express, a Tampa, Fla., company. Reps pay $3,000 for a 5,000-piece mailing of upscale materials, including a dinner invitation and seminar tickets.

He used Seminar Success, a marketing package designed for brokers by Response Mail Express, a Tampa, Fla., company.

Reps pay $3,000 for a 5,000-piece mailing of upscale materials, including a dinner invitation and seminar tickets. The company generates the list, designs the invitations and does the mailings.

“All you have to do is answer the phone, confirm people for the seminar and prepare yourself to put on a great seminar,” says an A.G. Edwards broker who, like the Merrill rep, was referred to RR by Response Mail.
