Morgan v. Meow

Morgan Stanley fought Meow, and won. Seriously.

Morgan Stanley fought Meow, and won. Seriously. An entity called “Meow” (which listed its owner's address as Baroness Penelope Cat of Nash DCB, Ashbed Barn) registered the Web domain www.mymorganstanleyplatinum.com. The arbitrator, Richard Hill, decided on May 22 in favor of transferring the domain name to Morgan Stanley, the company. Turns out, the Baroness is actually Michael Woods, a business consultant who bought the domain to demonstrate in seminars how companies neglect to register obvious names. Among Hill's key findings: Respondent is not a common cat.
